Cycling Stimulus Plan
February 11th, 2009 by Guitar TedI usually don’t get into topics off the path of cycling, but for obvious reasons, I have to say that the overall feeling I’m getting from folks is that “doom and gloom” is on the rise. Well, the folks in D.C. may have their version of a “stimulus plan” , but I’ve got a different one in mind. A “Cycling Stimulus Plan”
First, let’s look at a definition of “stimulus” from Dictionary.com:
stim⋅u⋅lus
–noun, plural -li
1. something that incites to action or exertion or quickens action, feeling, thought, etc.:
2. Physiology, Medicine/Medical. something that excites an organism or part to functional activity.

Turn off, Tune out, Ride on!
So here’s your upgrade tip for the day: Ride a bicycle. Stimulate your mind in a healthy way, along with your body. You know, it is funny how the news of the day seems like a distant memory while you are climbing that hill, screaming down around a fast sweeper, or trying to clear that obstacle that has had you snookered on your favorite trail
You don’t even have to have a topshelf rig, you don’t have to have the latest gizmo. Just riding a bicycle, it’s medicine for the soul.
So if you find yourself gripping about the latest news, or griping about which political party is screwing it all up, maybe you just need to consider pulling the plug on the news feed and getting out for a ride. Trust me, the whole morass will still be there regardless of whether you keep tabs on it or not.
So why not ride?
