The Bike Lab Bike Build: Raleigh “Rainier” Cross Bike
December 10th, 2008 by Guitar TedWhat is winter for if not to build up a bicyle for next season, right? So with that in mind, I’d like to present a rare Raleigh “Rainier” Cyclo-cross frame for your consideration. The Bike Lab is going to present this special series on the building up of this frame and Easton EC 90X fork right here for you all to see.

The frame features hydroformed aluminum tubes with track ends clad in stainless steel. A nice touch on an aluminum single speed. It also has an internal headset with a tapered head tube. The graphics are special and were inspired by Rainier Beer, a well known brew in the Pacific Northwest.
We’ll be aquiring some parts for the build which is going to be single speed specific, of course. I am going to go for a mainly white component ensemble here. Look for updates throughout the winter.

If you have any suggestions or things you would like me to document, now is the time to let me know! This should be a fun and informative bike build. Stay tuned!
