Lezyne Alloy Drive S Mini Pump: Final Review
October 20th, 2008 by Guitar TedWell, I don’t think I’ve ever been so impressed with a mini-pump as I have been with this Lezyne Alloy Drive S pump. And it hasn’t been just me either, but everyone I have shown it to, or that has borrowed it has been “blown away”. (Sorry! I just couldn’t resist!)
At the recently held Interbike Outdoor Demo, we had ourselves a situation where Crooked Cog founder, Tim Grahl had a flat tire. Fortunately for him I had the Alloy Drive S in my hydration pack along with a tube. I let Tim use the Lezyne pump and much like the last report I did on this little air pushing wonder, Tim was very impressed by the way the hose worked. He figured out right off that it was a benefit to the user to have the hose absorbing all the flex instead of your presta valve stem. Another convert made on the spot! I should add that the Alloy Drive S made short work of the flat tire as well.
The construction of this tool is top notch, the weight is low, the size is great, and the functionality of the pump is very high. All parts are serviceable and made from rubber, steel, or aluminum. I give the Lezyne Alloy Drive S pump the highest rating that The Bike Lab has: Mechanic’s Choice. It is worth every penny Lezyne asks for it.
Thanks to John Gaddo of J&B Importers for providing The Bike Lab with this sample to test!

You never mentioned a weight in either report. I’d like to compare its weight to my current pump if you could let us know.
Aaron: Sorry, the weight was in the initial report, which I didn’t link to: http://thebikelab.com/2008/08/13/lezyne-alloy-drive-s-mini-pump-out-of-the-box/
But to save you the trouble, it was 112 grams in weight.
I bought the M version cause the small is not imported in SOUTH AFRICA and I love it, I always wip it out for other when required and they rave about it
