Cannondale To Offer Parts and Accessories
June 19th, 2008 by Guitar TedRecently I have seen the new parts and accessories catalog from Cannondale which shows several interesting pieces. Cannondale, who in the past has offered trailers for children, clothing, and bags is no stranger to the accessory business, but they have branched out even further.
While there are no childrens trailers, there are pumps, computers, some nifty tools, and an expansion of the bag line to include several commuter oriented models. Cannondale will continue to offer their clothing line alongside of these new accessories.
Some of the pumps recall Crank Brothers mini pump with the large volume aluminum barrels and integrated pressure guages. The most interesting unit is a top of the line mini pump that doubles as a high pressure shock pump. It has a digital guage, a small hose to reach valve stems in awkward places, and the end folds out for a “T” handle to better push on the pump. It has a unique, flattish shape as well. It is rated for 300 psi too.
In the tool department, Cannondale shows the rarely seen “Head Shock” stowed multi tool again which replaces the steer tube cap on Head Shock and Lefty forks. The tool fits inside of the hollow steer tube and is held in place by the top cap until the user wants to take it out for a repair. Cannondale has shown a version of this tool before, hopefully this time it will be widely available.
Cannondale also enters the crowded cycling computer market with some sleek, squarish looking cycling computers in several models. Commuter bags grace the revamped bag line and include bags for shopping and for commuting to the office.
Look for these new accessories to show up at a Cannondale dealer near you soon.

Yeah I’ve started seeing random Cdale branded parts around. REI has some rather crappy looking Cdale bottle cages that don’t really hold bottles well.
I think, after being bought by Pacific, parts is the best way for Cannondale to go.
This is the first step in the road toward seeing 40lb Wal-Mart Cannondale bikes lined up next to their GT and Mongoose “cousins”. Its a shame really that such an innovative and independent bike company should endure such a fate.
