Ran these on an Se Stout, and really liked 'em. Can't beat the price. Gotta give a shout to the Soma Sparrow, too, cuz it takes BE shifters or brake levers if you so desire.

The Salsa bars at 17 degree's are a cats meow for some; but there is definately a market for old geezers like me too, and the higher rise Space-Bar is nicer. For the Mountain rider...definately the Salsa, but for the pure tourist, or casual/sport rider...comfort...Space Bar. To a guy like me, just looks alone score points. I am putting the Space Bars on my new fixie.

Thanks Ted.

I think I'll give it a try.

The guy I referred to is a heavy dude, where I'm 6' 4" at 155lbs I doubt I'll have issues. I mainly ride hard pack single track and the daily ride to the beach.

Cheers > Tony

Tony: I like them alot. Keep in mind, anything can break. I don't think that the Space Bar is flawed or inherently poorly designed. It isn't a "free ride" bar, a "dirt jump bar" etc. Some folks are harder on equipment than others, and there are all sorts of mitigating circumstances that come into play.

I've heard of folks breaking Mary Bars too, it's maybe not the type of bar for everybody. I like them (the Space Bar), feel safe with them, and they fit my riding style. Each person has to make their own decision and live with the consequences. ;)

So how do you like these bars?

A buddy of mine snapped them at the stem, so I'm a bit hesitant....

Thanks
