Jagwire's triathlon shifter mounts

Here’s something new I hadn’t seen yet. Jagwire, a company mainly known for making high quality housings and cables, has a new bar end shifter mount that is not only “bling“, it is a lot lighter than a traditional bar end mount. About 66 grams lighter to be exact.

These are dubbed as triathlon bar end mounts, but cyclo crossers have taken to them as well. The over the bar clamp style mount eliminates the traditional wedge expander system and thus most of the weight savings is there. Another advantage is that you dont have to completely disassemble the shifter/mount to replace a cable, as the unit is slotted and it’s easy to take the whole mount off your bar by just loosening a clamp screw.
