I'm one of those guys still using a Cannondale Raven for cross country and that has a very fixed seat post. No way to add a QR. And I'm 6'4". So this kind of thing looks ideal if not essential for me. I need a 27.2 diameter post so was intrigued by the Origin-8 link. Know where to get these in the UK?

Cheers

Maybe I'm the only one who doesn't like to rack their balls every time I jump. Gotta have the seat-be-gone on the fly...

This is a great idea for cross country riders. When climbing or slogging out long easy sections of a track you want your seat up high to get the most out of your legs. When going downhill, and the going gets fun you, want to get off that seat and get it low so it stops smacking you in the crotch whenever you shift your weight backwards over the back wheel. For people in a hurry its a pain in the arse to continually stop and readjust your seat height and getting that top height right takes a lot of messing around.
This post along with the gravity dropper serves a purpose.

This is a great thing for riders on all-round bikes who do it all. That's my opinion. :)

For me, I use my 29er for commuting, mountain biking, and all my errands, and it would be very handy to have That adjustable of a seatpost!

Hey, A problem that may not exist for most, but if you a bigger guy like me you have to have your saddlle up in the clouds to be able to peddle ok and too high to get behind, which means as soon as you get anything near downhill your fighting to stay on the bike - something like the joplin cold be an essential.

I don't even like quick releases. This is another product solving a problem that doesn't exsist. Like ghost rider set it and forget it.
