This past Wednesday was my first night ride with the Ay Up lighting setup. The ride is a 6 mile loop that is either done 2 or 3 times depending on the weather.

As normal I did a lap on my own and outfitted with only the bar mount light as the sun was just starting to set. Arriving back at the meeting spot I put the helmet light on and put the battery in my pocket. Again super easy to use and with the light weight I barely noticed it on my head. I was only out for 2 hours so I wasn’t able to test out the battery capabilities but plan to get there in the next few weeks.

Thoughts so far :

1. No on/off switch. The plug is what turns on or off the light which is very easy to use with bulky gloves on.
2. Pivoting heads. Each head pivots up/down individually so you can spread the beam up your trail or in front of you with the same light system.
3. Too many zip ties. I’ve outfitted myself with more Velcro straps to play with mounting but I don’t like that changing things on the side of the trail is limited.
